🌙 Darkenator is a lightweight userscript that adds a clean, toggleable dark mode to all Wikipedia pages.

🌓 A floating toggle button appears in the bottom-right corner. Just click it to turn dark mode on or off — it works instantly and doesn't affect images or layout.

💡 Instructions

  1. Install Tampermonkey for your browser:

  2. Click the "Install this script" button on GreasyFork.

  3. Visit any Wikipedia page — like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon

  4. Click the 🌓 toggle button in the bottom-right corner to enable dark mode.

🔧 How it works

The script injects custom CSS into the page when toggled on. It modifies:

  • body, .mw-parser-output, .infobox, table, and link elements
  • Lightens links, darkens background, boosts readability
  • Does not invert or recolor images (preserved as-is)

🛠️ Future Plans

  • Remember dark mode setting between page loads
  • Add keyboard shortcut (e.g., Shift+D)
  • Extend support to mobile Wikipedia
