YouTube Enhancer: Skip Ads, Expand Description, Disable Shorts

This userscript improves the YouTube viewing experience by:

  • ✅ Skipping in-stream video ads automatically (muting and jumping to the end)
  • ✅ Clicking “Skip Ad” buttons as soon as they appear
  • ✅ Auto-expanding video descriptions so you see full info without clicking "More"
  • ✅ Redirecting YouTube Shorts URLs to the regular video player, removing the Shorts UI

Why this is useful

Watching YouTube can be frustrating with unskippable ads, collapsed video info, and the clunky Shorts interface. This script removes those roadblocks to improve your experience without extra extensions or premium features.

How to Use

  1. Install Violentmonkey or Tampermonkey
  2. Create a new userscript and paste the full code
  3. Visit any YouTube video or Shorts link and enjoy the enhanced features

Tested On:

  • ✅ Chrome with Violentmonkey
  • ✅ YouTube desktop interface (2025)
